Trust is established at several layers: organisation verification, private evidence controls, moderated opportunities, a structured Deal Room and an immutable operations audit trail.
Counterparty verification
Every seller and buyer submits CIPC registration, FICA/KYC documents and, where relevant, sector licences (mining or water rights). Commodexa's Operations team reviews each submission by hand and only marks a business "Verified" once documents check out.
POPIA-compliant data handling
Personal and company information is processed under the Protection of Personal Information Act. KYC documents and licences are stored outside the public media library, access-controlled and access-logged — never served as a plain file link.
Licence-expiry monitoring
Mining and water licences carry an expiry date. Commodexa flags an upcoming expiry to the seller and to Operations with a 45-day warning window, so a verified listing doesn't quietly go stale.
Full audit trail
RFQs, quotes, acceptances, payments, status overrides and every verification decision are written to a regulatory audit log — who did what, when, and why — reviewable by Operations and exportable for compliance reporting.
Moderated trade opportunities
New and edited opportunities enter operations review before publication. Counterparty status is shown separately from the commodity information so buyers can understand what has—and has not—been verified.
Transaction and dispute controls
The Deal Room links quotation and ICPO records, private evidence, payment status, dispatch and delivery. Either party can raise a dispute for an audited operations decision without altering the original document chain.
